Exelixis Medical Affairs Showcases Its Industry Leadership
Problem
Exelixis is an oncology-focused biotechnology company that strives to accelerate discovery, development, and commercialization of products for difficult-to-treat cancers. Their existing exhibit had an established and distinct identity for them, but they wanted to update and stay at the forefront of their industry. So, the challenge was how to improve an already impactful exhibit presence.
Solution
The Medical Affairs team’s innovative spirit and desire to outperform its past achievements were the drivers for a productive collaboration with Slate360. The resulting exhibit design once again sets the organization apart from competitors, first and foremost by leveraging unique, eye-catching architecture. It includes a negative-space overhead banner (a first in this industry), a warm color palette with dark imagery, and other design innovations that challenge norms and command attention, even at the busiest tradeshows. The booth also succeeds functionally, enabling essential meetings with attendees and areas to gather.
Results
The new exhibit meets the team’s high expectations and brings visitors from all corners of the exhibit hall, proving that innovative design supports increased engagement. The team has remarked that they are busier interacting with attendees than ever before. In addition, at the largest event of the year for physicians and oncology specialists, a nationally recognized photographer specializing in architectural, exhibit, and retail photography called the exhibit a “weighty jewel” for its sophisticated design.
“Exelixis has the creative courage to go against the grain and embrace design outside of the norm, making them a leader on the tradeshow floor among much larger competitors and keeping their show presence as progressive and innovative as their cancer treatments. They found the perfect partners for exploring what’s possible in exhibit design in their long-standing Slate360 team. That bold decision has paid off in a remarkable increase in attendee awareness and booth traffic.”
